Salary: £2,000 plus £250 for early completion, 0.45p per mile.

Compass Fostering are an independent fostering agency who care for nearly 2,000 children and young people and providing the best possible care to all children within the community is at the heart of what we do. You will have a relevant professional qualification in social work, together with valid SWE registration. You will also have experience of undertaking assessments of potential foster carers. A good knowledge of the fostering regulations, childcare law and safeguarding issues is essential. You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will need to be flexible and have the capability to use your initiative and work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met and to enable the smooth running of the service.

In return Compass will offer you training, guidance, a dedicated Panel and Assessment Manager, Compass have an administration team who will collate all reference and checks so you can concentrate on the assessment. Compass will continue to operate a blended approach to completing Fostering Assessments of face to face and virtual visits.

Fee per assessment: £2,000 plus £250 for early completion, 0.45p per mile.

Required education

  • Social Worker qualification

Required experience

  • Social Work: 2 years

Required licences or certifications

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • Social Work England (SWE) registration (required)
