The Fostering Development Manager will be joining an established group of managers and will be responsible for leading on new project developments within the Fostering Service.
In this exciting new role, The Fostering Development manager will offer operational excellence through continuous improvements to the service. The right candidate will develop policies and practices within the organisation and be responsible for leading, developing and managing projects and new service developments.
You will work within one of the most respected independent Fostering Agencies, who provide extensive support and training to foster carers in order to ensure the service children and young people receive is safe, high quality and child focused.
You will work in partnership with the Head of Practice and Development to create, develop & establish safeguarding policies. This role will also include developing new practices and procedures in line with legislation and service delivery requirements, as well as expanding upon those that are existing and well-known across the company.
With sound knowledge of current safeguarding practices within the sector and the ability to be able to keep the service up to date with trends, research and government guidance. The Fostering Development Managers efforts will be driven towards managing projects and leading on development of specialist services, particularly to meet customer need.
Within the role, The Fostering Development Manager will continue to develop and strengthen relationships with key LA customers as well as creating additional opportunities within our specialist services.
Through coaching and mentoring, you will contribute and influence the development of a dynamic, cohesive, motivated social work team and community-based psychologists.
Our Fostering Development Manager will be present at regional meetings to inform on practice developments and ensure staff are informed and are engaging with current research and any changes in practice.
In this new role, The Fostering Development manager will be an effective advocate for Compass. They will promoting a positive image and maintain our extremely high standards and positive reputation whilst adhering to the provisions of the Data Protection Act, observing strict confidentiality and ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures in relation to all aspects of work undertaken.
Essential Requirements of the Role
We are keen to recruit an established Fostering Development Manager who has experience in development work.
• A social work qualification (degree in social work, DipSW, CQSW or equivalent recognized work qualification)
• 3 years’ post qualified social work along with experience at management level
• Excellent understanding and knowledge of fostering standards and regulations
• Full current driving license and commitment to travel nationally to other offices
