We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Therapeutic Coordinators, whose professional background and training is underpinned by theories of working with trauma, attachment and loss. You will have some working knowledge in working with children and young people in the Care sector.

We are recruiting for therapeutic coordinators in the following areas:

  • South: 3-4 days negotiable, Worthing, Henfield area
  • North: Full time, Holmfirth & Sowerby Bridge
  • Midlands/Birmingham: 3 days a week, Tipton, Erdington & Solihull

As a Therapeutic Coordinator, you will be training and supervising staff cohorts as well as running Therapeutic Healing groups and modelling application of therapeutic interactions with the young people. You will be a key member of our team by enabling staff to recognise the destructive elements that trauma plays on child development, promoting a philosophy of therapeutic understanding from within our Education settings or our Children’s Homes. You will be involved in Child focused discussions and be skilled at writing reports.

You will be part of our holistic approach of working together, linking our Fostering, Education, Residential and Therapeutic Services together. Whilst you will be primarily working in the Residential and Education settings, your line-manager will be our Consultant Group Head of Therapeutic Services and you will be a member of the AHCT Multi – Disciplinary Therapy Team.

Compass Community Children’s Services is an independent social care and education provider with an excellent reputation for providing high quality and tailored packages of care to young people.

The successful applicant will receive specialist training in our AHCT approach which you will then be promoting. We have a number of Residential Homes and Education settings across the country where we are seeking to develop the Assessing and Healing Complex Trauma approach. You will have the opportunity of working in a number of these, helping to maintain the therapeutic ethos between them all.

This is an exciting new role in which you will work in partnership with the Therapy Team, reflecting together about the therapeutic ethos across all services.

Requirements
• Experience of working with children in the Looked After sector
• Active, energetic, creative, outgoing character
• Good Communicator and Fluent English speaking
• Full driving licence
• Experience of group work with young people desirable
• Experience of assessment in intervention
• Evidence of literary ability to Level 5/A level standard.
