Compass Wales Enjoys Their Summertime Masquerade Ball
In South Wales, local compass carers, staff and young people were invited to an exclusive event – the Masquerade Summertime Ball.
This private event was to celebrate all things Compass, ranging from (but not limited too) all the amazing support and care given by local carers, recognising the growth made by their young people, children and resilient staff.
Based in the Llechwen Hall on the 6th of June, all the attendees dressed to impress with long, sparkly gowns followed by a shirt and tie. The Masquerade Ball was put into full swing from 6pm onwards which welcomed an old school disco, a delicious food spread and a lot of glitter! All the attendees were treated to a one-of-a-kind glitter tattoo to really spruce up their evenings.
During the evening, Compass asked one of their foster couples what they would say to someone who is thinking about fostering:
“We would say not to overthink it too much. It’s good to be prepared and ask lots of questions but don’t scare yourself away from doing it as you learn so much when your actually… you know, doing it”.

Amongst this, they also reflected on their proudest point of the fostering process: “When we’ve seen the children go home to their parents, it feels like a really happy ending”.
Compass Fostering Wales truly reflects the essence of community amongst the fostering sectors by celebrating everyone’s involvement. Events such as this harnesses everything Compass Fostering sets out to achieve by bringing together everyone’s combined efforts into one, unified centre.
Thank you to all parties that attended the event. Compass look forward to seeing you all soon to celebrate all your hard work, involvement and most importantly, community.
